The outer diameter of the High weight drill pipe is similar to that of the standard drill pipe, making it easier to operate the drilling rig. The characteristic of weighted drill pipes is that they can withstand pressure like drill collars. A unique feature of weighted drill rods is the presence of a wear-resistant band in the middle of the drill rod. Wear resistant bands can act as stabilizers, increasing the stiffness of weighted drill rods in the drill string and reducing wellbore inclination
