Aluminum particle water cooling process is the process of aluminum ingots processed into aluminum particles by milling, granulation, screening, packaging and other processes.At present, aluminum particles are mainly used as deoxidizing agents for steelmaking and reducing agents for smelting metal calcium.Its shape is a spherical particle with a diameter of 1mm-3mm and 3mm-5mm, and its chemical composition is basically the same as that of the aluminum ingot used.
The traditional production process of aluminum particles is thermal processing.The process is as follows: the aluminum ingot is heated and melted into a liquid, and the compressed air blown out of the nozzle is blown into a dispersed aluminum liquid, and the dispersed aluminum liquid is cooled into aluminum particles.This process has the following disadvantages,
1) High ablation rate, about 13% of the aluminum is ablated during heating and blowing.
2) High energy consumption,High energy consumption due to the need to melt the aluminum ingots.
3)Heavily polluted, Due to the use of raw coal to melt aluminum ingots, the production process emits a lot of source pollution gas, and the injection process will also produce a lot of aluminum dust.
4) The grain shape is not round, Due to the action of air resistance during blowing and falling, the aluminum particles produced have a pointed tail.
5) Large diameter particles cannot be produced, The proportion of 20 mesh to 80 purpose aluminum powder produced by blowing method is 87.5%, and the proportion of aluminum particles which can be used as deoxidizer in steelmaking and smelting metal calcium reducing agent is low.
Therefore, it is very uneconomical to use hot processing method to produce aluminum particles of steelmaking deoxidizer and metal calcium reducing agent.
Based on the demand of the market, in October 2004, on the basis of magnesium powder cold processing technology, our company focused on the development of large diameter aluminum particle cold processing technology and equipment. It was successfully launched in February 2005 and expanded nationwide. The application range of aluminum particles is also developed from steelmaking deoxidizer, slag making agent, metal calcium reducing agent to refractory additives, aluminum sol additives.
The water-cooled processing process has the following unparalleled advantages in the production of aluminum particles,
1) It can produce aluminum particles with a diameter of 1mm-3mm and 3mm-5mm, The qualified product rate can reach 98%.
2) Can maintain the original quality of aluminum ingots: because the production process is not high temperature, basically no contact with other harmful media, so there is basically no oxidation, pollution phenomenon.
3) Low production cost: Due to the cold processing method, there is no high energy consumption link of aluminum ingot remelting, and energy consumption is greatly reduced.
4) No environmental pollution: The production process is zero emissions, no pollutant emissions.
5) Production safety: there is no possibility of combustion and explosion in the production process, which can be safe production.
2. Production process
First, the aluminum ingot is roughed and cut into aluminum chips with the aluminum chip machine,Then use the chip breaker and granulator to crush the aluminum chips into aluminum particles with a diameter of about 1mm-3mm and 3mm-5mm.

1) Aluminum chip machine: special equipment for cutting magnesium ingot into aluminum chips.
2) Dewatering machine: special equipment for dewatering aluminum scraps.
3) Granulator: The aluminum scraps are crushed and granulated to make aluminum particles with a diameter of 1mm-3mm and 3mm-5mm.
4) Vibrating screen: The aluminum particles after granulation are classified by mesh number.
